We are pleased to announce that Guillaume Massin of DFDL Cambodia has been promoted to Partner, effective January 2014. Guillaume has been a prominent member of the DFDL team since 2007. He will continue in his role as Managing Director of DFDL Cambodia and Deputy Head of the Regional Real Estate Practice Group. Guillaume’s areas of expertise include major projects and real estate transactions, construction, general corporate and commercial law practice and advisory work in relation to civil and commercial matters and civil and criminal procedures. Over the past years, Guillaume has played an important role in landmark deals, including advising an international developer in the development of a multi-million dollar integrated community in Phnom Penh, advising companies on land use rights and construction permits, assisting banks and private equity funds with the structuring of property projects, supervising the acquisition and structuring of hotel and resort projects, including negotiations with the Royal Government of Cambodia for the lease of state land to investors and has worked on land development projects for factories in Special Economic Zones. He has also advised numerous international and local investors in the retail, agriculture and construction sectors. DFDL in Cambodia
DFDL established its office in Phnom Penh in January 1995, as the first officially authorized foreign legal and tax consultancy in Cambodia. Our advisers working in Cambodia are dedicated to providing services of an international standard coupled with in-depth knowledge of the local environment.
In Cambodia, DFDL is licensed as an investment company by the Council for the Development of Cambodia and the Cambodian Investment Board. We are also registered as a private limited company with the Ministry of Commerce. Under these licenses and registrations, we are permitted to provide legal, tax and investment advisory services of an international nature. As for advice in respect of Cambodian law matters, we refer our clients to, and work in commercial collaboration with, a network of five Cambodian law firms.
Our clients are major international and Asian foreign investors in Cambodia, including large foreign and Asian financial institutions. We have been involved in most major projects in Cambodia since our office was open over 19 years ago, including electricity projects, aviation, telecommunications, cement projects and large real estate projects to name a few.
