DFDL Thailand Co-hosts Lao PDR Investment Opportunities Seminar
On 21 November 2019, the French Embassy of the Lao PDR, the Franco – Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Conseillers du Commerce Extérieur and DFDL organized the event ‘Opportunities in Investing in the Lao PDR’ held in Bangkok.
The event opened with a presentation on the political landscape and business environment in the Lao PDR by H.E Madam Florence Jeanblanc – Risler (French Ambassador to the Lao PDR).
This was followed by presentations on project and corporate financing trends in the Lao PDR by Arnaud Caulier (Chief Executive Officer – BFL BRED Group), potential financing tools in the Lao PDR by Yazid Bensaid (South East-Asia Regional Director – French Development Agency), transport and logistics in the Lao PDR: opportunities by Jean-Pierre Grzelczyk (Chief Operating Officer – Savan Logistics), hydro-electric and floating solar hybridization projects & electricity interconnection projects between the Lao PDR and Myanmar by Yacine Chouabia (Business Development Director – Électricité de France), energy sector diversification in the Lao PDR by Gert Meersman (Regional Senior Legal Adviser – DFDL) and moderated by Eric Durand (Lamberet Asia).
The packed room of attendees attested to the resounding success of this event which concluded with a cocktail reception where those present could network and exchange perspectives.
