On 3 November 2021, DFDL Thailand and Vietnam team members participated in a joint webinar on “Exploring Business Opportunities In Vietnam & Thailand – Focused Sectors: Food And Beverage (F&B)”. The webinar, organized by Source of Asia, Investment and Trade Promotion Center (“ITPC”) and Lim & Partner was separated into 4 different sections.
Section 1 was an introductory overview of Thailand’s and Vietnam’s food & beverage sector in the process of recovering from the turmoil and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and was delivered by Thomas Sanchez (COO Thailand and Malaysia – Ayam Brand, President of the Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce, COO Thailand and Malaysia – Dennis Asia Pacific) for Thailand and Huyen Nguyen (Export Sales Manager – Vinasoy) for Vietnam.
DFDL covered section 2, explaining key parts of the legal and regulatory framework along with opportunities, challenges and necessary requirements when establishing a food & beverage business in Vietnam or Thailand. Paul Volodarsky (Senior Legal Adviser, Deputy Head of Regional Real Estate and Construction Practice) moderated this session while Dung Nguyen (Legal Adviser) led the Vietnam discussion and Kraisorn Rueangkul (Partner) handled the Thai session.
In section 3, Damien Bazin (Director of Market Expansion & Corporate Service Department – Source of Asia) and Laurent Landie (Managing Director – Lim & Partners) gave presentations replete with advice and crucial tips on establishing and maintaining a successful food & beverage business in Thailand.
Paul Le (Head of CSV Projects, Vietnam Trade Promotion – Central Retail Group Vietnam) closed the last session by providing key insights on the topic: Vietnam in perspective: A successful decade of Central Retail Vietnam’s operations in the rapidly growing market.
The webinar welcomed over 100 attendees and ended with a lively and engaging Q&A session with many interesting and varied questions from those who joined us. The entire webinar was moderated by Trang Tran (Office Manager – ITPC).
