On 17 August 2021, EuroCham Cambodia went forward with the second part of its Tax Summer Series focusing on “Tax Audits”.
The audience gained valuable knowledge and insights from the team of assembled speakers: Chum Socheat (Co-Chair of the EuroCham Tax Committee and Tax Manager at R&T Sok & Heng Law Office), Mom Rinsey Tola (Associate Director, Tax & Corporate Services at KPMG Cambodia) and Clint O’Connell (Partner & Head of the Cambodia Tax Practice at DFDL). Together they went through the various phases, processes and document formalities of the tax audit process with practical tips on how to speed things along, good practices worth keeping in mind when liaising and dealing with the auditors themselves.
Our Cambodia tax expert, Clint, listed the top five most common tax audit issues in different areas, and particularly on discounted goods/services, transfer pricing issues, loans and interest rates, withholding taxes and reconciliation issues.
The session ended with a 30-minute Q&A where the speakers addressed lots of highly topical, valid and meaningful queries from the audience.
