DFDL is pleased to announce that three of its partners have co-authored the Thailand Country Report in Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions, a comprehensive guide to conducting transactions in foreign countries that was published by Wolters Kluwer International.
The 50-page chapter, which was jointly written by Jack Sheehan (Partner; Head of Regional Tax Practice), Nipaporn Supha-Utchaichan (Partner; Thailand Deputy Managing Director) and Kraisorn Rueangkul (Partner, Thailand), was published in the global guide in April 2022.
The chapter, which included a description of DFDL, covered key topics in corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in Thailand, including statutory consent and approval, land ownership, asset acquisition and taxation issues.
The DFDL partners also covered the different types of mergers and acquisitions available in Thailand, how foreign ownership works, and the incentives to be considered for investing in Thailand. They also discussed the business restrictions and tax issues involved in the domestic M&A process.
As a conclusion to their chapter on Thailand, DFDL authors offered experience-backed advice on market entry, general employment and how best to mitigate risk exposure.
Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions, edited by Peter F. C. Begg, is an established and respected reference for M&A in the most important economies in the world.
The book describes its contributors as “Some of the world’s most distinguished law firms, each of them identified as a leading firm in the mergers and acquisitions field in their own country,” adding that the authors “provide succinct and practical guidance to help you navigate their local operating environment.”
