DFDL in the GMS Power Summit 26-28 March 2014 in Hanoi, Vietnam

DFDL was a sponsor of the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) Power Summit 2014 on 26-28 March in Hanoi, Vietnam. The Summit attracted nearly 200 leaders from government sectors, industry players and financiers. The delegates are long-term stakeholders in the Mekong sub-region and explorers in these frontier markets.The summit was a dynamic platform where these power players discussed the opportunities in regional projects. Various topics were addressed in the workshops namely regional infrastructures, investment opportunities, financing structures, and regulation navigation. Martin Desautels, Regional Managing Partner of DFDL, Huynh Dai Thang, Partner of DFDL Vietnam, Akemi Kishimoto, Senior Legal Adviser, and Kristy Newby, Senior Legal Adviser gave presentations at the pre-conference workshop on investment in power in Mekong Region. Jerome Buzenet, Managing Director of DFDL Vietnam, was the chairman on the first day of the main conference in the Summit, guiding the audience through presentations on the current and prospect assessment of power markets of the countries in the GMS.

The Summit were well-attended by policy-makers in energy sectors who opened up about national policies and investment incentives.A great portion of attendees come from China as Chinese hold great interest  in  power development within Greater Mekong Region where infrastructure are still undeveloped and power potentialities are still here to be tapped.
