DFDL Legal Breakfast: New Legal Developments for Real Estate Projects in Cambodia

Dear Clients,

We are pleased to invite you to DFDL Legal Breakfast (at no cost) entitled New Legal Developments for Real Estate Projects in Cambodia, on 15th December at 8:30am in our offices.

As you may know, the recent years and months have been rich in legal developments; some of which have a direct impact on real estate projects and transactions. Such legal developments include the foreign ownership law, real estate developer licenses, and the civil code.

The Law on the Implementation of the New Civil Code was enacted by the National Assembly on 6 April 2011 and approved by the Senate on 9 May 2011. This law revokes certain provisions of the 2001 Land Law and replaces them by new ones in the Civil Code (which will come into effect in December 2011).

In our upcoming Legal Breakfast, over coffee and croissants, Guillaume Massin, Head of our Real Estate Practice Group, Hep Seka, Adviser and Aurélie Coppin, Consultant will discuss new legal developments and how the enforcement of the Civil Code might impact real estate projects in Cambodia. Key topics include:

  • Acquisition of ownership
  • Regime of private ownership
  • Forms of ownership
  • Immovable property used as surety

Language: English

GUILLAUME MASSIN
Deputy Country Managing Director Head of the Real Estate Practice Group
