DFDL’s Vinay Ahuja and Company’s Co-founder and Group CFO Discuss Eatigo’s Success in Bringing Technology Used in Airline Ticket and Hotel Room Reservations to the Restaurant Table
Episode 6: Cross-cultural Human Resource Management – The Key to Success
Here Sid talks about the multi-cultural character of Eatigo and how its four founding members all come from different cultures and countries. As he puts it, “Eatigo hires CVs, not people.” In other words, hiring the right people based on their experience and capabilities and not merely to tick arbitrary boxes based on gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Sid notes that this approach has nonetheless resulted in Eatigo being active in seven countries with an incredibly diverse staff comprised of 25 nationalities. Vinay draws parallels with DFDL as a similar organization to Eatigo with no single ‘home’ country in the ASEAN region and a diverse and multi-ethnic team, key factors to their ongoing success.
