The textile and apparel industry in Cambodia has been attracting foreign capital for years and is one of the country’s most important sectors for FDI. Macro-economic and political changes such as Brexit, the Belt and Road Initiative as well as socio-economic developments such as a growing middle class, increased labor costs and more advanced technologies which are all giving impact on the sector.
So what does the future hold for the manufacturing industry?
The Textile Summit discussed all of these hot topics and also put Cambodia into the context of the ASEAN and its developments.
DFDL Partner and Managing Director of Cambodia, Guillaume Massin, spoke at the Cambodia Textile Summit 2017. He gave an overview on the attractiveness of Cambodia as an investment destination. In addition, he touched on some of the new legal and tax developments as well as recommendations from the private sector (The White Book 2017).
