IPBA’s 25th Annual Meeting and Conference offered three days of debate and discussion focusing on the theme “Vision for the Future”.
The conference comprised two plenary sessions: “Vision for the Future – the Playing Field” and “Vision for the Future – the Legal Team”. The first session looked into how the economic, business, political and regulatory environment will be like beyond 2015 while the second session gave insights on how the legal profession must respond and adapt into this changing environment.
On May 7, Bernard Cobarrubias participated on the panel “Commissionnaire structure and permanent establishment risk”, comprised of seven speakers who discussed key tax considerations including highlights of judicial precedents and relevant directives issued by the tax authorities of their jurisdictions.
Event’s highlights included:
- A keynote speech by the Honorable Chief Justice Geoffrey Ma, GBM
- Two plenary sessions, 50 concurrent session topics from 22 committees and five social events
