Jack Sheehan and Nipaporn Supha-Utchaichan wrote an article on the proposed Thai inheritance tax in the last issue of the Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce newsletter in the legal affairs section.
The article describes Thailand’s Prime Minister and head of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) General Prayuth Chan-Ocha’s plans to reform Thailand’s tax system. The PM proposed an inheritance and property tax as part of these reforms. The new taxes are expected to address the income disparity between Thailand’s rich and poor.
