Anti-Trust and Competition
DFDL’s Anti-trust and Competition team understands the realities of international companies and investors in Southeast Asia and can help you with your current business initiatives in the region as well as create effective and compliant action plans for market entry and expansion in light of established and developing competition regimes throughout the region.
A number of our jurisdictions are either still developing their competition regimes or have recently implemented, or are considering implementing, significant amendments to their existing regimes. In the context of the uncertainty this brings, our advisers have been assisting with competition matters in Southeast Asia for many years and have published and spoken on competition law throughout the region. Our firm and our advisors have consulted with major international organizations and governments on competition law issues including drafting of competition related legislation and regulations.

- Establishing and reviewing competition law compliance manuals and policies;
- Competition law briefings and alerts;
- Evaluating business practices to identify and mitigate risks of possible breaches of the competition law (including in particular, anti-competitive agreements, abuses of dominant position and unfair trade practices);
- Assisting in inspections/investigations conducted by competition authorities including responding to information requests and representing clients in meetings and negotiations with the authorities;
- Assisting with review of potential merger transactions and, where required, notification filings; and
